2019 Digital Essay Competition Primary School Launch – Kilimani Primary School Nairobi
2019 Digital Essay Competition (DEC) Primary School Launch was held at Kilimani Primary School on Friday 17th May 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm. In attendance were DEC competition partners and sponsors, publishers, neighboring schools, parents, teachers, students and invited guests.
The guests who attended the launch included Kevin Carey – RNIB Chairman, Caleb Odugu – Regional Chairman KEPSHA in Nyanza, Lucy Murungi – from KIB, Prisca Wanzala – DEC judge, John Okech from RTI, among others.
Students were excited and looking forward to participating in the competition, teachers were also ready to support their school to win on the 2019 Digital Essay Competition.

DEC submission categories for 2019 are English, Kiswahili, French, Art, Brailed, and KSL
The 2019 DEC timeline is as follows
- 25th July – End of DEC Entry Submissions
- 26th September – DEC Prize Giving at Nairobi International Book Fair, Sarit Centre Nairobi
