iTOYA PrizeGiving

We have just awarded the first ever iTOYA (ICT Teacher of the Year) winners in collaboration with CEMASTEA. The award was for the best innovative teachers in classroom practices in STEM (Science–Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). This award is known as the iTOYA Award; i for ICT Integration in Teaching and Learning, TOYA for Teacher of the Year Award.

This award was to help promote ICT integration in teaching and learning STEM which could help achieve transformative educational outcomes. iTOYA was also supported by the Teacher Service Commission (TSC) as an addition to the Principal of the Year (POYA) and Teacher of the Year (TOYA)  Awards.

The iTOYA Award held at the just concluded KESSHA in Mombasa, the winners are Paul Kamau, Overall Winner from Loreto Girls High School, Kiambu, won a laptop, trophies, certificate, gift hamper and 100,000 Kshs, Eunice Ruraa, 1st Runner-Up from Kyeni Girls High School, Embu won a laptop, trophies, certificate, gift hamper and 70,000 Kshs and Paul Mallo, 2nd Runner-Up from St. Stephen’s Lwanya Girls, Busia won a laptop, trophies, certificate, gift hamper and 50,000 Kshs. In addition, the TSC promised the winning teachers instant promotions.

The other finalists include Harrison Onyango from Buruburu Girls, Nairobi, Jemimah Kivuu from Chaani Girls, Mombasa,  Appollo Justus from Boystown School, Garissa, Harrison Agosa from St Joseph’s Kitale and James Okewa from Maranda High, Nyanza and they all won a laptop, trophy certificate and gift hamper.
